Indian summer!

I don't know whether I've mentioned it before , but I'm a very orderly, routine - lover , "like- things- how- I- like- them" kinda person. Having said that, as you might suspect,I tend to follow a schedule ( nice way of saying, I like doing the same things) when it comes to spending my free time at weekends. Having said that too, this time we decided to do things a bit differently and take breakfast at the marina... and quite early in the morning , I might say. It was lovely, all stroller- free and serene. However , outfitvise, same all same all, Indian feathers and shorts...summer calls for it...

Go the extra... inch !

Here's an interesting option when it comes to ' bottoms' ( and I do not mean one' s behind whatsoever ). As opposed to our usual suspects, mini skirts or super-short shorts, this flowy cotton skirt by fashion in my closet channels a romantic / hippy vibe to notice! Would probably go for it as a day outfit as is, but wouldn't object to an evening alternative , paired with a slightly 'naked' top for a less predictable ' night- out' look. It is the case that a few extra inches of fabric do make a difference...

Button up!

Being a great fan of two- piece outfits, them being shorts plus top or skirt plus top, I've come to the conclusion that, more often than not , a beautiful shirt ,as opposed to any other kind of top, is the best choice. It adds volume to your upper body, in a non overwhelming way, though. Whether silk or soft cotton, as in this case, ( love love love the cross pattern, by the way) shirts say " cool and chic". So, button up ladies...!

Key element!

On an interactive note; One of the most frequent questions we get on the blog relates to the fact of how we put the outfits together, in other words, where do the ideas originate from? and how does the process come about? Well, apart from making choices based on mood and occasion, many times the outfit evolves around a certain key element, say this kimono top, for example, and gradually builds up into a complete look. It is no overstatement that the right shoe can transform/ uplift a whole look! How else would you explain the fact that basics can be made to look so amazing if it wasn't for those extraordinary sandals by...After all,what more compelling an argument is there...than Cinderella ...?!( ha!ha!ha!)

It's no secret/ great revelation...Yet, I would like like to elaborate on the topic of how a pair of shorts can get you places no dress can...Don't get me wrong! I love dresses!!!
